Kevin Davison has been involved
in martial arts since childhood and
lived in Asia intermittently since he was 19 years old.
He pursued the study of East Asian studies and language
at the University of California at Berkeley and later
received a degree from the University of Hawaii in Mandarin
Chinese. Living in China (Taiwan, Hong Kong and Beijing)
for three years, he studied Language, philosophy and
internal martial arts (qi gong, tai chi chuan, and xing
yi chuan). Interest in Eastern and Complementary Medicine
led him to pursuing a doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine
from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine.
He completed postdoctoral work in Chinese Institute
of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Beijing) and Xi Yuan
Hospital (medical Qi Gong). During the time spent studying
and traveling in Asia he had four principle teachers
that has allowed him to pass on this tradition of Integrated
QiGong.
He has been a practicing physician
of naturopathic and Chinese medicine for the last 20
years. This has led him to working in many varied environments,
from program development in preventative medicine for
the IBM Corporation, physician and medical consultant
to the Oakland Raiders Football team and most recently
to Olympic gold medalist skier, Julia Mancuso.
An avid believer in fitness and training
he has maintained his practice and learning of internal
martial arts for three decades. He has taught the Integrated
QiGong system locally and internationally over the 10
years, and is in the process of writing a book on the
system.
Dr. Davison has been the director
of Maui East West Clinic for the last 17 years and has
specialized in new therapies for the treatment and recovery
of muscle and soft tissue injuries as well as leading
edge anti-aging therapies.
He has spent most of his life in the
Hawaiian Islands and is the fourth generation to live
there. Surfing, kite surfing, and stand up paddle boarding
are his regular recreation devices.
